Scott Hayden has led SMNC Subsidiary Denali Materials, Inc since 2011, and SMNC Development since its inception in 2021. Scott is currently SMNC's Chief Operating Officer and will step in as Chief Executive Officer in June 2026 after Sue Taylor leaves.
As a person who grew up in Lake Minchumina, Alaska, a fly-in community of 30 year-round residents, Scott understands the challenges rural Alaskans face. He prioritizes hiring and training shareholders and descendant's scholarships and improve job opportunities.
Scott graduated from high school in a two-room schoolhouse in rural Alaska, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
He enjoys flying his floatplane, mountain biking, and dragging his kids on adventures that “build character!”
