Scott Hayden is currently SMNC's Chief Executive Officer as of June 2026.

With more than fifteen years of leadership experience across Alaska Native corporation subsidiaries and resource‑related industries. As Chief Executive Officer of St. Mary’s Native Corporation (SMNC), he provides strategic direction for the corporation and its subsidiaries.

Raised in the remote community of Lake Minchumina, Scott brings a deep understanding of rural Alaska and is committed to expanding opportunities for SMNC shareholders and descendants through local hiring, workforce development, and scholarship support.

Scott’s leadership background includes federal contract management, capital project execution, financial oversight, vendor and banking negotiations, and enterprise risk mitigation. His long tenure with SMNC and proven ability to build strong, high‑retention teams continue to strengthen the corporation’s operational performance and long‑term strategic capacity. Outside of work, he enjoys flying his floatplane, mountain biking, and outdoor adventures with his family.
